Harvey started his show career at six months of age 
earning his first two points taking Winners Male & Best Puppy In Breed at the 2002 Eastern Canada Dachshund Club Specialty. Shortly thereafter Harvey presented us with his first hunting trophy, a young rabbit. Unfortunately he also broke a tooth getting that bunny! Autumn 2002 saw Harvey recovering from dental surgery instead of showing. He re-entered the show ring the following spring finishing his Canadian Championship in style, winning multiple Best of Breeds.
Harvey has sired eleven litters in the six years he has lived with us. He has produced a number of Champions and has Champion "grand-kids" in Canada & the United States as well as Champion "great-grand-kids" in the States with more on the horizon. Harvey produces superior quality males which are generally long, low and lean; his female get tend to be more petite. All his progeny to date have excellent bone, lovely short hocks, superb rear angulation and good fronts with a definite "English" feel in the first generation.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Harvey's breeder, Ms Lesley Brown of Devoncream Dachshunds, UK, for letting him come to Canada. As our foundation stud Harvey has made a significant contribution to our excellent line of cream Dachshunds and we hope will continue to do so for many years ahead. We're eagerly watching the next generations both in the ring and the whelping box.
Harvey enjoys amusing "the kids", hunting groundhogs and rabbit, or he can be found lounging with Bert in the shade of the trees. Pictured below with daughter Tess you can see what a marvel he is with the pups! They bite his nose, grab onto his tail feathers and hitch a ride or pull on his ears and he takes it all with nary a cross grumble!
